Under the Skin Part 4

on Mon, 11/21/2011 - 18:48

Dear Vince,
Nov 21/2011

Life just keeps getting worse and worse. I thought nearly killing my best friend would be the cherry on top of my new horrendous life, but Kyle, Sasha and I are stuck in a run-down motel 2 miles from the farm house. Well, what is left of the place... But how about I start at the beginning and go from there.

Well, it all started when Kyle woke up angry… Except, angry doesn’t even cover it! He was full-on pissed. My room got trashed as he threw about the lamps, the bedside tables and, all the drawers from the dresser at me.

Dear Vince,

I’m sorry, Kyle I am truly sorry! I don’t know what came over me; it was like something inside me took over. I could see myself doing it but I couldn’t stop myself. I was crying I tried to regain control over my body. I swear on my life I never wanted to bring you into this, I don’t even know what to call it anymore. It’s a mess of a life, if you can call it a life. I’m a murderer, a killer, I killed my best friend. This is how it happened.

I had decided to try and get some sentimental things from my locker at school, like my father’s leather jacket and the bracelet that

Dear Vince,

Snake Skins are not all that they seem. I realized that on October 12th — the night of the full moon. We have some unique people living with us. There’s Liz, who was an artist in the 1700s. She’s always prim and proper, and speaks like she just walked out of one of Shakespeare’s plays. Her mate is Sam, who is the second youngest Snake Skin: he was turned in 1953 on the day of his 23rd birthday. He’s a true golden boy if I’ve ever seen one. He’s also the most level-headed and well rounded person in our tribe, including me.

Sasha is the most rough and tumble girl I have

Dear Journal,

I don’t even know why Cindra gave this stupid diary to me. Maybe she thinks this will help me let my angry out in a ‘safe’ and emotionally ‘helpful’ way. I hate people who talk like they know what’s going on in my head. Why am I even writing in this?

Dear Vince,

I’m starting to see a reason behind this journal; it’s a way to vent. I once was human, I went to school, was on the swim team, and had a stable, loving family that always backed me up. This ended on the night I met Robert Markvonce.

That was when the curtain was pulled back.

Life as a Writer - The Final Entry
By Jaclyn Armstrong

This is my final entry for “Life as a Writer.” I will be writing short stories every two weeks out of the eyes of someone or creature for Totem Sacred, instead. So you won't hear my voice for a while but you will hear other voices and their adventures.

This is the second week of school and I am so tired and feeling so bombarded by all the work. But I have seen all my friends and talked to them about their summers—which was glorious—and I love my new teachers.

Life as a Writer - Day 208

I feel like everyone has gone to the Ex except me! Well that was all changed Thursday. It was the best day ever!!!! I even got Tiny Tim Donuts, which are so yummy. I also went on almost every ride. I loved the skyline you could see while riding on the giant swings – it actually helped me with my fear of heights. I think the Ex is my new favourite place on earth; so much fun in just one day!!!

That same day I also registered for school, I got my schedule and I got my pictures taken. I love all my courses they seem like so much fun I am excited for the first day of school.

Best Week of the Summer!!!! (Also the most tiring)

So Monday we had the Toronto wolf pack Party, which was so awesome. Watching the finale of Teen Wolf with other fans is so much fun. During the commercials we guessed and discussed who was going to die; what’s going to happen at the end; and most of them teased me by saying Derek was going to bite the dust. Then on the Tuesday, Uys and I went around Toronto dropping off my new comic “Totem Sacred” at Hairy T’s, Beguiling and Comics & More.

Life as a Writer: Day 187

on Tue, 08/16/2011 - 15:37

This week I want to talk about childhood books, and which one’s make you happy? Which ones do you want to read over and over again? My childhood book is Avalon: Web of Magic by Rachel Roberts. I started reading them in Grade 5 with my four best friends, and the 10th book came out in while I was in Grade 7. After that we kind of forgot about the series... till this summer when my younger sister found the first three books and started reading them. That motivated me to go out and re-buy the rest of the series (they’d been given away by my parents).

What I had not realized is Rachel Roberts had

Hey everyone!

I just realized that summer is almost over! It sucks so much but I am making the most of it. I am taking a two week vacation from Paradise Comics and UysFaber. It is so relaxing spending time with family and friends.

I am also reading my new X-Men graphic novels, which are amazing. I got both volumes of Young X-Men and two volumes of Uncanny X-Men. I really like them a lot, but I have no one to rave to about how great they are, which makes me very sad. I also have a new comic crush- CYCLOPS!!!!! He is not my typical bad boy superhero, but he is hot, hot, hot.

I have not read

*N.B.-spoilers within*

My blog this week is longer than usual because we have a lot to talk about. The first thing on the agenda is the movie Cowboys and Aliens. Most of the Uysfaber crew made it out to the advance screening on Wednesday. Special thanks to Paradise Comics for the passes! The movie is a blend of the old western and sci-fi genres. Unlike a lot of movies, C&A wasn’t a slow starter; there was action and humour from start to finish. Some of the scenes were just fantastic. For example, in one scene Ella (played by Olivia Wilde) is cremated by the Apaches.
