Arrested Development RETURNS!!!!!

“Oh this is Joyous News”

Earlier this week news broke out that the hit cult TV Show, Arrested Development is finally coming back for 10 episodes and a movie. I watched the show as it came out, but became a true, die-hard, “Blue-ppie” of the show in college, as my roommate Jonah and I essentially watch the show for several hours every day we would hang out at our apartment. The shows greatest legacy for me is that it never gets tiring, it is still funny to this day. The show and the lovable Bluth family is truly “Solid As A-Rock”.

The tentative plan is for them to do a character spotlight on each character starting with “Baby” Buster Bluth that will bridge the gap between the series and the movie. The strategy is often implemented in comics, as a way of focusing in on specific characters for a larger story arch. What makes this so promising is that it is a new take on the Arrested Development format, so this miniseries wont just be a straight re-hash of the show. Just the very thought of their being an entire episode dedicated to Tobias “Dr. Funky” puts a smile on my face.

But of coarse, for every time there is such good news someone tries to spin it the wrong way. I recently read a column with someone trying to explain that the additional material will fail and only hurt Arrested’s prestige’s legacy. As if a television show really needs to care about its legacy. Fair readers, I will not sully you with the article, but it made me make a vow hear and now.

I don’t care and I will not score these new episodes of Arrested Development. I just want to see them, enjoy them, and have a good time with the old gang. Who cares what some people are going to say online to try and ruin this for people like me, just trying to have fun watching some “never-nude” action. So what if it isn’t the funniest thing in the history of mankind? I want to see “Boy Fighting”, “Motherboy”, “Wee-Britain”, “Some Afternoon Delight” and I want to have fun, and I am not going to let fool hearty and jaded TV reviews get in my way (A lesson that we all learned in Season One: Public Relations After all).

It is awesome that this is happening and it validates the countless time and money I spent mailing frozen Banana’s to FOX to get this to happen. If you are one of those people who need to feel like this is a bad thing, don’t. it isn’t like getting “TBA” or “Graft VS Host”. Take a “temosil”, dress up as a giant banana, lose a seal and enjoy the fact that nice people are making something nice again. And anyone who tries to ruin this for us, tell them that they are a coward and do one of the chicken dances at them. And if you are on the fence just remember what Mrs. Featherbottom taught us, "Whenever I get a wee bit scared I hum a little tune. Humm-doodle-dee-Humm-doodle-doo".

Sometimes the good guys win, and sometimes the “Story of a wealthy family who lost everything. And the one son who had no choice but to keep them all together” win. “And that’s how you narrate an episode”
