Learning to play the Game of Thrones board game

In which I do not explain how to play the game, because that would be a different and considerably longer blog.

A few weeks ago, we here at UysFaber decided to try playing the 2ndedition of the Game of Thrones board game (read: the boss decided we were going to play, and the rest of us decided it was a fine alternative to real work).

The original plan was to learn the game as we went along, consulting the rulebook as necessary.

Learning to Letter

Learning to Letter in 3 Easy Months

by A. Nixon

When I tell people that I’m learning to letter comic books, they look at me with complete incomprehension until I tell them, "I put in the speech bubbles." So then we’re at least thinking of the same thing, even if they still don't understand how it all works.

It's a very fun and interesting task, for anyone who enjoys either comics or letters. We’ve come a long way from the days when comics were lettered by hand and, as a result, it requires a much different skill set.

on Tue, 09/20/2011 - 12:22

This last weekend UysFaber journied out to Montreal to attend one of Canada's best comic-cons, and we had a blast! Hitting the road early Friday morning, Andrew Uys was joined by Head of Volunteers Andrea Fort and Totem Sacred: Salt Road artist Matthew Salonen. Teaming up with Paradise Comics and Peter Dixon, they sped to Montreal laden with comics, graphic novels, prints, and everything else they could possibly stuff into the U-Haul. And that afternoon Salt Road writer and UysFaber CCO Jaclyn "Lady J" Armstrong and Theresa McArthur caught a flight that had them meeting up with the road

Summer Happenings at UysFaber Inc!

on Tue, 08/02/2011 - 21:40

Last Thursday, July 28th, 2011, will go down as an important day in UysFaber history. It was the first ever UysFaber Board Meeting and the agenda was chock full of exciting developments and plans for the company’s future.

First, congratulations should be extended to Jaclyn Armstrong, who is now the Chief Creative Officer for UysFaber Inc. Already an established writer and world-builder for Totem Sacred, Lady J is the perfect fit for this position and we look forward to great things from her in the future.

UysFaber Inc!

on Sun, 06/26/2011 - 21:48

UysFaber was officially Inc'd as of last Thursday, so we are now UysFaber Inc.! This has kept us very busy, as we also attended the Green Lantern advance screening, and the next morning we hit the road, manning our table at the Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con 2011!

Working with Paradise Comics at the show, UysFaber had a table, while Andrew Uys interviewed creators, actors, and guests in conjunction with Panel Culture. The Wizard show was a total blast, and we were running the entire team.
